Happy birthday, im 45 and sorta mired,
Reminisicin' on the year that just passed Im sorta tired,
So this morning I just took a long drive and sought the quiet,
The rain fell down on the window and brought a vibe,

This year im doing research, Ph. D bout to complete it,
Worst thing about it my mother will never read it,

The same week I lost my mother I lost my brother,
By November I had lost a sister and then another,
I never dreamed you leave in the summer,
Questioning the same things that Stevie Wondered,
I know the leaves fall off the trees and grow the under,
And they say that memories can bring heat in the tundra,
But when I leave will he be pleased with my tactics?
Or was it just a means to an end, that of a matchstick?
Built the latch between what I had mastered and what young niggaz was after, hip hop makes learning faster
I was taking in by scholars I was unpublished,
I was brand new on the block they had work for me to run wit,
I found in some ways I'm starting to shun the public,
I'm running to the bag mental health was runnin from it,
Way before COVID, I lived in slow motion,
Pop out when I need but privacy's my devotion,
I said 44 I would be a lot more open,
But no matter where I went I could feel the walls closing,
This year was both a come up and the worst L of all time
I'm serious (Sirius), it's like perseverance my call sign,
Shout outs to the women in my life, you're all dimes,

Dont call me today, cuz its the wrong time.
