about

This is my dedication to my time working at River Rouge High School. Throughout the PD series, the bell sound that you hear is the sound of the bells that ring between classes. Throughout the series, I worked at Rouge and it has had an undeniable effect on me and my art.

In the joint, you hear the typical school day. The buses pulling in and leaving at the end of the day, the grind of making choices with so much gravity, and the voice that says "I'll Take It Away...." is me hoping for a brighter future and how my efforts can affect their lives forever.

On the daily, the adults at Rouge give their absolute all to our students, who overcome insurmountable challenges each day. Their experiences remind me that resilience is not readily evident to the untrained eye. Our students walk through abject danger to come to our doors each day....so who are we to shortchange them?
